Pseudoclamoris gigas also known as Tapinauchenius gigas, or commonly known as the orange tree spider, is a tarantula endemic to French Guyana. The name gigas translates directly from Latin as "giant".
Pseudoclamoris gigas is easily distinguished by their bright orange coloration on the legs and abdomen, their carapace have similar coloration but with lighter tone. Females of this species can reach roughly 5.5 inches in diagonal leg span.
It is a new world arboreal tarantula . This species can be found in tree cavities and will often result to hasty retreat when disturbed. The egg sac will often contain 100-140 spider-lings.
